Why should you stage your home?

Hi there! If you watch HGTV, I know that you know one thing or two about staging a house for showing. If you don't watch, I'll share here some of the reasons why you should stage your home prior to putting it on the market.
Showcase condition: A property that shows well has a better chance to be sold. Here are some ideas to prepare your house to make it look its best:
- Reduce clutter & start packing up early(you're moving anyways)
- Identify problems with the house and fix them
- Stage: small fixes and touches will make your home more appealing to buyers and it can help increase your home's value. Getting your house organized, de-cluttered and clean is a valuable step for any real property selling process.
You don't have to spend too much, just enough to make the house presentable.

I watch & love HGTV, but I'm fortunate to work with an amazing designer who has been staging houses for years.
If you have any question or want to share ideas, leave your comment!

A few summers ago when I was waiting for my bar results I watched a lot of HGTV and I remember one of the big things that kept being said on the shows I was watching was to remove personal items like photos. Is that something you suggest too?

Hi Tracy! Yes, it is. Buyers have to see themselves living in the house. Sometimes the sellers have so many personal items throughout the house that makes it difficult for the buyers to picture themselves living in.

I am familiar with this from selling my childhood home.. it was weird to remove all our personal pictures and things, but I understand it!!
